A Bradford man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his two-year-old daughter.
Mohammed Quadar, 32, from Undercliffe Street, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
He is charged in connection with the death on Saturday of his daughter at Leeds General Infirmary.
The alleged assault is said to have taken place at a house in Undercliffe Street, on Thursday.
Bradford magistrates remanded him in custody to appear at the city's Crown Court on 24 November.
His partner, 22-year-old Rukhsar Bibi, also appeared in court facing child cruelty charges.
She was initially granted bail on condition that a surety of £10,000 was left with the court and that she surrender her passport.
Lawyers for the Crown Prosecution Service were expected to challenge the decision.
