Widow declines invitation to meet Bush
Isobel Jones
Isobel Jones says all the bereaved families should have been invited
A Lincolnshire woman whose husband was killed in Iraq has turned down an invitation to meet President Bush.

Captain David Jones from Louth died when a bomb exploded near the military ambulance he had been travelling in.

His wife Isobel was one of the relatives of the British dead invited to meet Mr Bush.

She decided not to go, but said it was sad that not all bereaved British families were asked to meet the president.

'Bigger picture'

She said: "I really hope that they have been picked out of a hat, and that's why they're meeting him.

"But also it's not just the relatives of servicemen that have died - perhaps he ought to be meeting troops who have been brought out there as well and other people involved.

"There's a bigger picture than just the fact that over 50 British soldiers have been killed."
