Stage fall show reorganised
Sound of Music fans
Several "nuns" and others dressed in lederhosen watched the show

A performance of Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music, which was cancelled when a theatre stage collapsed injuring audience members, is being restaged on Monday.

The original show was halted after members of the audience went on stage for a best-dressed nun competition and fell into the orchestra pit.

Eight members of the audience have decided to sue the city's Alexandra Theatre for damages after the temporary stage collapsed.

More than 30 people dressed in nuns' costumes fell 20 feet into the orchestra pit in September.

All of the victims are claiming for their physical injuries and the psychological trauma of being involved in the incident.

Solicitors are awaiting the outcome of a Health and Safety Executive investigation into the accident at the 1,347-seat theatre.

Show organisers invite audience members to turn up to the show dressed as nuns, members of the Von Trapp family and Julie Andrews.

The performance features a screening of The Sound of Music with karaoke-style subtitles for the audience to join in the songs.
