MP calls for speed cameras
crash on A149
The A149 has claimed four lives this year
An MP is calling for speed cameras to be installed on a stretch of road in north Norfolk.

Four people have died this year in three separate accidents on the A149 between Catfield and Potter Heigham.

Norman Lamb, the North Norfolk Liberal Democrat MP wants action to prevent the death toll rising further.

He said: "I think we've got to look at speed cameras.

"They definitely save lives and that is certainly something I will be talking to the authorities about."

Mr Lamb is to talk at a meeting with local police and councillors on Monday.

A 40-year-old man was killed on the A149 in September when his motorbike was in collision with another car and two bikers were killed in July in a head-on collision.

In August, a 25-year-old man from Catfield was run over by a coach when he was lying in the road.
