Alex Parks: Sports car and flat
Fans of BBC's Fame Academy winner Alex Parks snapped up all 400 tickets for a live appearance in Cornwall in only half an hour on Monday.

Parks, whose single Maybe That's What it Takes was released on Monday, will be signing copies of her album, Introduction, at the HMV store in Truro on Sunday next week.

Parks, from Mount Hawke near Truro, won Fame Academy last month and with it got a £1m record contract, a luxury flat in London and a sports car.

She started working on her new album the very next week after a brief visit to Cornwall.

Maybe That's What it Takes was written in the academy and a video has been recorded.

There are also rumours that Parks's managers have been approached by Robbie William's former writing partner, Guy Chambers, although Parks's record company, Polydor, will not confirm or deny this.

Parks is expected to return to Cornwall in the coming days to promote her debut single.
