A public inquiry into a planning row involving a travellers' site close to Ludlow takes place this week.
The three-day hearing will hear evidence from travellers living on the site, local residents and planning officials.
The inquiry will examine why planning permission has been refused for a more permanent site for the families who use the site.
About 20 families live on the site and some have been residents for a number of years with their children attending local schools, despite ongoing objections from householders living in the area.
The travellers set up camp on land off Wheatcommon Lane, between Richard's Castle and Ashford Carbonell.
When the local council investigated complaints concerning the travellers they found there was no planning permission for the site.
The travellers applied for permission but this was refused and an enforcement notice issued.
The inquiry takes place at the council chamber in Ludlow.
