Cause of landslip examined
Highways Agency officers plan to be at the site for a week
An investigation is starting into the cause of a landslip next to a major road in East Sussex.

Work by the Highways Agency is expected to last for a week and drivers using the A21 at Robertsbridge have been asked to allow extra time for their journeys.

Engineers are securing the area and stabilising the embankment at Silverhill.

Highways Agency route manager Colin MacArthur said: "Experts are now investigating the cause of the landslip and will be drawing up plans to stabilise the area.

"We are developing a scheme that will secure the embankment and a solution will be implemented as soon as possible.

"We advise drivers to take extra time for their journeys and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
