Drivers face disruption and delays
Motorists are face lane closes and speed restrictions on the M11 and A14 in Cambridgeshire and Essex this week.

Essential resurfacing work to repair sections of the worn carriageway on both roads is due to start on Monday, weather permitting.

A Highways Agency spokesman said the resurfacing work would be carried out overnight between 2000 GMT and 0600 GMT.

It is expected to be completed by Friday, 21 November.

Lane closures
Monday 17 November - section of M11 northbound halfway between Junctions 11 and 12 near Cambridge
Monday 17 November until Wednesday 19 November - M11 northbound at Junction 7 near Harlow
Tuesday 18 November until Thursday 20 November - A14 westbound at Junction 28 near Swavesey and Boxworth
Friday 21 November until Saturday 22 November - M11 northbound at Junction 7 near Harlow

There will be lane closures and a 40mph speed restriction in place while the work is carried out.

Highways Agency project manager David Lee said the work was essential.

"These small sections of the M11 and A14 are in a poor state and need repairing immediately.

"The new low noise surface being used will provide a quieter journey for motorists as well as reducing spray in wet weather.

"The work will be done overnight to minimise delays, but drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journey as lane closures and speed restrictions will be in place."
