Police are investigating after a young man was stabbed in the face outside a petrol station in Leicester.
The 18-year-old man, who had not been named, was attacked with a glass bottle in the city centre near Belgrave Gate at 0300 GMT on Sunday morning.
The man had surgery for severe facial injuries at Leicester Royal Infirmary after the attack.
Leicestershire Police say the incident happened after an argument involving the man's girlfriend.
The staff at the petrol station say the man came to the forecourt to ask for help following the attack.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
