Warning over A14 diversions
A section of the A14 in Northamptonshire will be closed for roadworks this week.

Motorists are being warned they face diversions while resurfacing work is done between junction 19 of the M1 junction 19 and the junction with the A5199.

The work, costing £32,000, will be carried out overnight on thursday Novemebr 20.

Advised diversions
Off the A14 at Thrapston, southwest-bound along the A45 to M1 junctions 15 15a or 16;
Off the A14 at Rothwell, northwest-bound along the A6 to Market Harborough then join the A4304 to M1 junction 20
Off the A14 at Kelmarsh, northwest-bound along A508 to Market Harborough then join the A4304 to M1 junction 20;
Traffic for M6 follow options 2 and 3, join M1 southbound to junction 19 and leave for M6

It is expected to last one night but the westbound carriageway from the junction with the A508 at Kelmarsh to the M1 will be closed from 2200 GMT on Thursday until 0600 GMT on Friday.

David Lee, Highways Agency project manager, said: "It is important that we carry out this scheme to improve the safety of the road for all road users.

"We will be using a quieter noise surfacing material on the carriageway to reduce noise levels.

"The work is being carried overnight to minimise disruption to road users."
