Man charged over drugs haul

A Liverpool man has been charged after drugs worth £250,000 were seized in Northern Ireland.

The 23-year-old, who is from the Anfield area of the city, was arrested in Belfast on Saturday when the car he was travelling in was stopped by police.

He is accused of possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.

He was remanded in custody and was due to appear before Belfast magistrates on Monday morning.

A 22-year-old woman, who was also arrested, has been released pending a report to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
