Man charged with murder

Mr Chesham appeared before Eastbourne Magistrates Court
A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body in a park in Eastbourne.

Kim David Alan Chesham, 39, appeared before Eastbourne and Hailsham Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Mr Chesham, who is from South Street in Eastbourne, is accused of murdering Anthony Raymond Simms, also from Eastbourne.

Mr Simms, who was 56, was found dead close to a bench in St Anne's Park, off the Avenue, at about 2250 GMT on Thursday.

Mr Chesham was remanded in custody when he appeared before magistrates.

He is next due in court on 26 November, when he is to appear before Lewes Crown Court.
