The man ran off when the alarm was activated
Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a post office in Ceredigion on Friday afternoon.

A man entered the shop at Cross Inn, Llanon, just before 1630 GMT, and threatened staff with a small handgun.

He ran out of the premises when the alarm was activated.

The man is described as between 5ft 7in and 5ft 9in.

He was wearing a navy blue waste length hooded top, navy blue trousers and a balaclava.

He left the scene in a green Rover type car and drove off towards Lampeter.

Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or for anyone with any information to contact them.
