Missing man 'executed'
Erkan Konakli
Mr Konakli's body was found in a canal
A man whose body was found in an east London canal appears to have been executed, say police.

Erkan Konakli died from a single bullet wound to the back of the head in what police are describing as a "classic execution-style killing".

Detectives believe he may have been killed because of his suspected links to drug dealing and the criminal underworld.

Mr Konakli, 23, went missing from his home in Maltby Drive, Enfield, north London on 7 November.

He was last seen alive in Stoke Newington, north London, at 1800 GMT that day.

But five days later his body was found in a canal at Willington Court, Clapton, east London.

Police say it is extremely important anyone with information about Mr Konakli's death, or anyone who saw him after he disappeared contacts them.
