A man has escaped injury in an overnight bomb attack at his home in north Belfast.

The man discovered damage to the back of his house in Saunderson Court, in the Oldpark area of the city, at about 0730 GMT on Saturday.

When police arrived they found the remains of a blast incendiary device in the garden. It was believed to have partially exploded.

The device caused damage to the back door frame and smashed two windows.

The man was later treated for shock.
