Woman, 68, punched in face
A 68-year-old woman was punched in the face by a robber who then ran away laughing.

The woman told Kent Police she was walking towards the Alldays shop in Carlton Hill, Herne Bay, when the incident happened.

A young person approached her, refused to let her pass and demanded she give them money.

The offender punched the woman in the face, causing cuts and bruises and after being given a small sum of cash laughed and ran away, police said.

The robber, who ran up Carlton Hill towards Hampton, is described as white and quite short and was wearing a light-coloured hooded top.

The offence took place at about 2045 GMT on Thursday and police said two vehicles drove past the scene at the time, towards Central Avenue.

Kent Police have asked the drivers of those vehicles or anyone else with information about the case to contact them.
