Man charged after shooting

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a drive-by shooting in Coventry.

The 28-year-old was arrested shortly after a teenager was shot in the leg from a passing car in Coventry.

The 19-year-old was hit as he stood outside Eastern Fried Chicken in Stoney Stanton Road at 0100 GMT on Thursday.

The victim was treated for a wound to the right leg in hospital.

Forensic teams examined the area.

The man is due to appear in court on Monday.
