Surfers ride for charity
Surfing at Vazon
It is hoped the surfing event will raise more than £100 for charity
Surfers in Guernsey are set to raise money for the RNLI.

The Thursday Longboard Club Classic takes place at Vazon Bay this weekend, and it is hoped more than £100 could be raised as a result.

The Thursday Club was founded by a group of friends, who met up once a week to catch up, as well as catch a wave or two.

The group has since grown and now 20 people regularly join in.

Longboarding is rising in popularity in Guernsey, and with this in mind, the club is holding the competition dedicated to longboard surfers.

More than 30 people are expected to take part.

If successful, it is hoped the competition could form a regular part of the local surfing calendar.
