Man in court on murder charge

A Bedfordshire man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman.

Collette Magee, 44, was found stabbed to death at her flat in Marlow Avenue, Luton, on Monday.

Matthew Thomas from Dallow Road in the town appeared before Luton Magistrates on Friday morning charged with her murder.

The 43-year-old has also been charged with two counts of rape of a 42-year-old woman, indecent assault and kidnap.

He was remanded in custody for a week and is due before Luton Crown Court on 21 November.
