Woman raped on way home
Police
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward
A 20-year-old woman was raped by a man claiming he was a family friend, police have said.

The alleged attack happened as the woman was returning home after a night out with friends.

She was walking along Cecil Road in Eccles, Greater Manchester, at about 0130 GMT on Saturday, 8 November.

Police say a man driving a silver sports car offered her a lift home, but once in the car he drove her to a car park off Renshaw Street, locked the door and raped her.

The man is described as Asian, aged about 28 to 30 years old with short, black curly hair and a local accent. He was wearing a black suit, white shirt and a purple tie.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "This was an absolutely terrifying experience for the victim and she has been left terribly upset by what has happened."
