NI braced for 'major storm'
Gusts of up to 70mph are expected across the province
A major storm is expected to cause disruption across Northern Ireland over the next few hours.

Severe gales with gusts of up to 70 miles per hour are due overnight on Thursday.

Persistent and heavy rain is also expected across the province.

Damage to trees and buildings is likely and the police are advising motorists to delay non-essential journeys.

Northern Ireland Electricity and the Roads Service have put precautionary measures in place to deal with the aftermath of the storm.

The winds are expected to ease overnight but will pick up again on Friday morning.
