Man charged with murder and rape

A Bedfordshire man has been charged with murder and two counts of rape.

Matthew Thomas, 43, of Dallow Road, Luton, will appear before magistrates in the town on Friday.

He also faces charges of indecent assault and kidnap.

The charges follow the discovery of Collette Magee's body at her flat in Marlow Avenue, Luton, on Monday.

Ms Magee, 44, who is originally from Northern Ireland, died from stab wounds.

Her body was discovered by Bedfordshire Police following allegations by another woman that she had been abducted from a car park in Luton and raped at a flat in Marlow Avenue.
