Van driver robbed at knifepoint
Police are hunting knife-wielding robbers who held up a van driver as he stopped in a lay-by to read his map.

The pair made off with new computer equipment from the white Mercedes Sprinter in Farnborough, Hampshire, on Thursday.

The driver, who was heading towards Cove, had pulled over to check directions on the B3013 Fleet Road at about noon when one of the men threatened him with a six-inch serrated kitchen knife.

Knifeman's description

The man and an accomplice then took hard drives and flat screen monitors worth thousands of pounds before fleeing in a dark blue Astra van.

The 32-year-old victim, from Botley, Hampshire, was left shaken but unhurt.

He was able to give police a detailed description of the man carrying the knife, who wore a diamond stud in his lower lip and a gold stud at the top of his left ear.
