Soldier charged after crash
A soldier has been charged following a crash involving a Wiltshire police car.

The patrol car was hit while parked at the scene of an earlier accident, also involving military personnel, on London Road in Amesbury.

The first crash happened just after midnight on Thursday, when a Vauxhall Corsa hit the back of a parked van.

The driver and passenger, both soldiers at the Larkhill barracks, were seriously injured and were taken to Salisbury District Hospital.

An hour later, a second car carrying men from the same barracks crashed into the police car at the scene.

The driver was arrested and has been charged with drink-driving and dangerous driving.
