A scheme to charge parents for parking while they pick up their children from a Salisbury school has been postponed.
Under the plan, parents would have been charged £25 a year for using the car park next to St Osmund's Catholic Primary School.
Salisbury District Council said the scheme had now been postponed "to give parents and residents sufficient space and time to be consulted".
A meeting has now been called between the Friary Residents Association, parents, the local authority and the school.
Plans to charge parents were announced following complaints from residents who said they were fed up with parents parking in their spaces.
But in a statement, the council said: "We are sorry parents have not been properly consulted on the scheme.
"The council believes parents should have an opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns in the full knowledge of the facts."
