Airline seeks Plymouth route
Jersey people should be able to fly to Plymouth and back next year.

New regional airline Air Southwest wants to fly between Jersey and Plymouth from March.

The airline has taken over many of the services dropped by British Airways after it pulled out of flights between Plymouth, Newquay and Gatwick in October.

The airline's application for the Jersey service is more than likely to be approved.

The Economic Development Committee has recently announced an Open Skies policy which grants virtually any application it receives.

For example the committee has already approved Flybe's application to run scheduled services between Jersey and Guernsey in competition with Aurigny and Rockhopper.
