MTV host to present new-look TOTP
Tim Kash

MTV presenter Tim Kash has been named host of BBC One's relaunched music show Top of the Pops.

The 22-year-old currently presents news bulletins and live entertainment show TRL for the music channel.

He will front TOTP from 28 November, when it relaunches as All New Top of the Pops under new executive producer Andi Peters.

Kash will also host a half-hour weekly MTV show giving a behind-the-scenes look at Top of the Pops.

'Institution'

He said: "Like most of us, I grew up watching the show, but more importantly it's an institution, having broken so many bands over the years.

"It's a fantastic opportunity to be involved in re-launching the programme and breathing new life into one of the one of the greatest music shows in television history. I'm honoured to be part of it."

Victoria Beckham has been lined up to help launch the first re-launched show.

Andi Peters, who joined the BBC from Channel 4 earlier this year, said: "Tim's confident and charismatic presenting style made him an obvious choice to present All New Top of the Pops.

"He's very talented, and does an outstanding job on MTV so Tim really will be a great new face for the show as it launches live with its all-new look."

At the moment, Top of the Pops uses a different presenter each week.
