A man has been found lying injured on a railway line in Leicestershire.
He was taken to hospital after he was discovered on the main line between London and Leicester at East Langton at 0810 GMT on Thursday.
Midland Mainline trains travelling between Market Harborough and London were delayed for an hour and a half before being re-routed.
British Transport Police have launched an investigation into how the man ended up on the track.
Six hours after the accident, passengers were still facing delays of 20 to 40 minutes on Midland Mainline's London-to-Manchester route.
Passenger Matthew Cashmore said: "It was very frustrating being stationary for 90 minutes but we were kept informed of what was going on.
"The train had to be backed up and then diverted down a different piece of track."
