Drink drive figures dip
The number of motorists who drink and drive in South Yorkshire has fallen, according to police.

Over the last weekend officers breath tested 441 drivers with 4.3% found to be over the limit.

In a similar operation in June just short of 8% were over the limit.

Officers noted a particular improvement in the Doncaster area where summer figures showed 17% of the drivers stopped were over the drink drive limit.

The figure has now dipped to just over 2%.

Police say they are now gearing up for the annual purge on drink drivers in the run up to the Christmas and New Year period.
