Man charged over estate murders
A man has been charged with a second murder after two men were found dead on a Sunderland housing estate.

The move follows the deaths of two men on Sunderland's Red House estate at the end of October.

Ian Lawson, 25, collapsed and died from multiple stab wounds on Retford Road, on the Red House estate on 30 October.

Simon Richardson was found dead in Roedean Road on the same estate on 31 October.

A post mortem examination revealed the 27-year-old from Rutherglen, in Red House, died from blood loss caused by an injury to the neck.

Northumbria Police said Sean Oden Crone, 25, of Rhodesia Road, on the Red House estate, had been charged with the murder of Simon Richardson.

A spokesman said: "He was remanded in custody and will appear before Sunderland Magistrates on 17 November at 1400 GMT.

"He had already been charged with the murder of Ian Lawson and will appear before Sunderland magistrates accused of both offences."
