Gridlock follows lorry crash
Mr Wizik's lorry
The lorry overturned while the BMWs ended up on the central barrier
Two people have been arrested after a crash on a major route into west London which killed a lorry driver and caused huge tailbacks.

Paul Wizik, from Chelmsford in Essex, was killed when his articulated lorry was involved in a collision with two BMWs just after midnight on the A40.

Both BMW drivers have since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

One is still in hospital, the other is being questioned at a police station in west London.

Traffic queued for miles on the A40, which was closed in both directions after the crash between the Target roundabout and the Polish War Memorial.

The overturned lorry blocked all three lanes westbound and wreckage ended up on the central reservation and eastbound carriageway.

Police say spilled diesel and the force of the crash has badly damaged the road surface.

Access was still restricted on both carriageways 18 hours after the crash, and drivers are advised to use other roads where possible.

Police are still seeking witnesses to the crash.
