Arrest after poppy money theft
A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of up to £5,000 in Remembrance Day money from a Royal British Legion shop.

The 27-year-old suspect was held in Bedworth, Warwickshire, early on Thursday.

The money was taken from the Legion's premises in Congreve Walk late on Tuesday.

Burglars are believed to have broken in through the back of the shop and forced open a cabinet where the money had been stored.

Some of the cash taken was still in collecting tins bearing the poppy emblem.

A police spokesman said: "A Bedworth man arrested early yesterday (Thursday) morning has been bailed to return to Bedworth police station in early December pending further police inquiries."
