Levein court fight postponed
Craig Levein has refused to pay his fine
Craig Levein has refused to pay his fine
A court case to decide whether a touchline ban imposed on Hearts boss Craig Levein should be quashed has been adjourned.

The battle between Levein and the Scottish Football Association (SFA) failed to kick off at the Court of Session in Edinburgh and was postponed until a later date, as yet unspecified.

Levein won the first round of his legal battle in September when the court suspended the four-month ban while he fights the SFA's ruling.

But Scottish football's governing body is expected to challenge the ruling, arguing that football should have the right to govern itself.

The SFA imposed the ban on 4 September after Levein repeatedly refused to pay a fine handed down in July for comments he made about referee Dougie McDonald following a defeat at Kilmarnock in May.

The manager was initially fined £1,000, but this increased to £4,000 as a result of his non-payment.

Levein, the SFA and Hearts Football Club made no comment.
