Management say the centre will improve 999 call processing

A new tri-service emergency centre in Devizes has been officially opened.
The new headquarters will house the police, fire and ambulance control rooms under one roof.
In spring, members of the Fire Brigades' Union (FBU) voted to take strike action over safety issues and job security at the shared 999 site.
This was resolved in May when the FBU reached an agreement with management.
The Wiltshire Ambulance Service has already started operating at the centre, and was recently criticised for a drop in the number of 999 calls answered within its set target response time.
Managers of the centre have said it will improve the processing of 999 calls.
