Danger road death victims named
Police have named three people who were killed in as many days on a main road in Oxfordshire which is at the centre of a safety campaign.

Melanie Morain, 26, died on the A4074 between Woodcote and Cane End on Sunday.

On Tuesday, two men were killed when their blue Vauxhall Astra van was in a collision with an articulated lorry.

The driver of the van has been named as Jako Swanepoel, 21, a South African national who was staying in Reading, Berkshire, on a working holiday.

The passenger was Christian Sachse, also 21, a Namibian national, who was living in the Reading area.

Witness appeal

Ms Morain, of Wayside Green, Woodcote, was walking in the southbound lane of the main road that runs between Reading and Oxford when she was hit by a green Rover 820.

Residents living near the road have called for a reduced speed limit to be introduced.

Oxfordshire County Council has said it is looking at a countywide speed management strategy which will cover Cane End.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accidents to come forward.
