Man 'tried to abduct boy'
A man has been questioned following an alleged attempt to abduct a three-year-old boy from a car.

The incident is reported to have taken place outside the British Legion Club in Westerham Road, Limpsfield, on Tuesday afternoon at about 1505 GMT.

The boy had been left alone in the blue Ford Focus car by his mother, as he was feeling unwell, while she collected a second child from school.

Surrey Police said when the mother returned a few minutes later the child was distressed, and told her a man had tried to get him out of the car.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw a white man in his 60s acting suspiciously or sitting in a parked yellow van in the area between 1500 and 1600 GMT.

They would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen the boy in the car.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday evening on suspicion of attempted abduction and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
