Mother saw girl's ambulance fall
Natalie Dibden
Police are investigating whether Natalie's drinks had been spiked
A mother saw her daughter fall to her death from the back of an ambulance on the way to hospital, police say.

Sarah Dibden was following the ambulance heading for Gloucestershire Royal Hospital when her 16-year-old daughter Natalie tumbled on to the M5.

She was on her own, and would have seen the fall, Gloucestershire Police said.

Natalie, from Charfield in South Gloucestershire, suffered fatal head injuries, a postmortem examination has confirmed.

She had been picked up in Dursley, Gloucestershire, after a 999 call in the early hours of Sunday morning to say she had collapsed.

Drink spiked

It is believed Natalie had been at the Warehouse nightclub in the town.

She is thought to have opened the ambulance doors while in a confused state.

Earlier it was revealed detectives are looking at the possibility that her drinks had been spiked.

"It is not something we are ruling out," a police spokesperson said.

"A full investigation is under way and at the moment we have nothing to substantiate that."

No-one from the Warehouse nightclub was available for comment.

Police had recently been warning that drink spiking was on the increase in the county.

Several incidents prompted a warning to clubbers from Gloucestershire Police about a month ago.
