Raiders beat shop assistant
A woman was beaten on the head after youths burst into the off licence she works in.

One of the raiders jumped over the counter at the shop in Bolton, on Monday night, before carrying out the attack with the wooden stick.

Cigarettes, phone cards and cash were taken from the store in Horwich during the raid, just before 2150 GMT.

Despite suffering a head injury the woman did not require hospital treatment, after the raid at Bargain Booze on Winter Hey Lane.

Faces covered

The youths covered their faces with hoods and scarves before carrying out the raid.

They were both white, one of medium or stocky build. One was wearing a khaki-coloured top with a dark hooded top underneath and blue jeans.

The other was of similar build and was wearing a grey hooded top and blue jeans. They were both armed with wooden sticks.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the raid should contact Bolton CID or ring Crimestoppers.
