Police have appealed for witnesses to a crash in which a 59-year-old motorway worker died.
Eddy Draper was carrying out maintenance work on a slip road at junction 15 of the M60 near Worsley when he was hit by a car at about 1405 GMT on Saturday.
Mr Draper, from Chorley, in Lancashire, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the Vauxhall Zafira, a 31-year-old man from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and given police bail.
The M60 was closed for approximately six hours after the incident.
'Enjoyed his pint'
Mr Draper's wife, Sheila, said: "Eddy was from a large and extremely close family.
"He was one of 12 brothers and sisters and was a happy, family man who had lived in Chorley all his life.
"He was a quiet, private man, who enjoyed his pint, and was interested in the countryside and wildlife.
"He lived for his nephews and nieces and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him."
