The killing happened near Castlewellan
Eight people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in County Down.

They were detained after police searches in Castlewellan on Tuesday.

They are being questioned about the shooting of Matthew Burns in February 2002.

The 26-year-old was shot dead as he sat in a car outside Castlewellan.

Mr Burns, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was shot in the back and died at the scene.

Mr Burns' brother was injured in the shooting.
