Man still questioned over death

A man arrested in connection with a suspicious death on a Wearside housing estate is still being questioned.

Simon Richardson was found dead in Roedean Road on Sunderland's Red House estate on 31 October.

A post mortem examination revealed the 27-year-old from Rutherglen, in Red House, died from blood loss caused by an injury to the neck.

On Tuesday, Northumbria Police said a 25-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.

On Wednesday, a force spokesman said: "A 25-year-old local man arrested in connection with the suspicious death of Simon Richardson remains in custody.

"He is helping police with inquiries."
