Surgery for brick attack driver
Rosemarie Govett
Rosemarie Govett is said to be recovering after surgery in London
A mother who was badly hurt when a brick was thrown through the windscreen of her car has undergone major plastic surgery.

Rosemarie Govett, 41, was moved to King's College Hospital in London on Saturday for the operation.

It is feared the mother-of-two could lose the sight in one eye after she was hit by the missile as she drove her two children along the A28 between Ashford and Bethersden on Thursday evening.

A police spokesman said officers were continuing their inquiries over the weekend after receiving dozens of calls from motorists about similar attacks on the same road.

If anyone saw what happened, or knows who did this, please come forward and help my family

A spokeswoman for King's College Hospital said Mrs Govett, who was transferred from the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent, had undergone surgery and was now recovering from the operation.

Her ex-husband John said Mrs Govett had severe facial injuries and could lose the sight in one eye.

He said: "At the moment six or seven consultants are deciding what to do.

Children 'shocked'

"It may be a couple of months before we know what can be done.

"If anyone saw what happened, or knows who did this, please come forward and help my family, and help the police find this person."

The couple's 13-year-old son and daughter, 11, were "shocked" by what had happened but suffered only minor injuries.

Kent Police are linking the attack to two other incidents in the space of 10 days, one of which involved a brick being thrown through the window of a bus on Tuesday.

Anyone with information should contact Ashford Police Station.
