A body has been discovered at a block of flats in Bristol and police are treating the death as suspicious.
The dead man was discovered on Saturday in a stairwell at Barton House in Barton Hill.
Police carried out an intensive search and forensic examination of the area.
A Home Office pathologist examined the body of the man, thought to be in his late 20s or early 30s.
The cause of death is not yet known and a post mortem examination will be held.
Detectives said shouting was heard at the flats and they have appealed for help from the public in establishing what happened.
Officers were called to the flats in Aiken Street at about 1030 GMT on Saturday after a resident found the body on a landing.
Description issued
The dead man has not yet been formally identified.
Police have issued a description as they want to hear from anyone who may have seen him in the area.
He is described as a white man about 5ft 11ins tall, of stocky build, with brown eyes, clean shaven, with shaved hair and tattooed arms.
He was wearing wearing blue jogging bottoms, a blue running top with white Adidas logo and was carrying a fawn-coloured fleece jacket.
Detective Inspector Mike Pratt said: "This man may have been a visitor to the flats and we are keen to hear from anyone who can tell us who he may have visited or from anyone from the flats who knows who he is.
"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who used that stairwell, which is at the opposite end to the main entrance of the flats, between Friday night and Saturday morning."
