Fatal crash on traffic island

A man has died and another suffered head injuries in a crash involving two vehicles at a traffic island.

A driver died when his BMW hit a tree after he lost control on a corner, near the Little Chef restaurant on the road to Baldock, at Royston in Hertfordshire at about 2035 GMT on Friday.

Police said that a second car, a Nissan Sunny, collided with the BMW and the driver suffered head injuries.

Both men were from Royston according to police who also appealed for witnesses to the crash.

Another man also died in a collision between a car and a lorry on the A421 in Buckinghamshire between Milton Keynes and Junction 13 of the M1 at 1830 GMT on Friday.
