Barn fire to burn for days
A barn fire that destroyed hundreds of tons of hay might not burn out for days, firefighters say.

The fire broke out just after midnight local time on Saturday at Cheswell Grange Farm, between Newport and Wellington in Shropshire.

Firefighters say it is one of the biggest farm fires seen for many years in the county.

As much as 600 tons of hay caught light and a team of 24 firefighters was needed to deal with the fire at its height.

They pumped water from a nearby pool on to the flames to bring the fire under control.

Investigations are under way to try to find out how it started.
