NHS bosses have recruited eight Spanish doctors to work in local surgeries in Lincolnshire.
The general practitioners accepted the posts after a recruitment campaign in Spain, which has a surplus of doctors.
The Spanish doctors will help fill a shortagthe county Lincolnshire.
A spokesman for the NHS in Lincolnshire, Martin Whittle, says recruiting from Spain is one method of addressing the shortage.
"Spain has a similar training structure to the one we use in England, so it is entirely appropriate for us to recruit doctors from Spain," he said.
He reassured patients that the doctors all speak fluent English.
The doctors will start work in February.
