If you would like to apply for pension credit, you can do so by calling: 0800 99 1234.

The line is open from 0800-2000 BST, Monday to Friday; and 0900-1300 BST on Saturday.

If you have speech or hearing difficulties, the textphone number is 0800 169 0133.

When you call, you will need your National Insurance number, and information about any income, savings and investments.

Pension Credit will be paid from October 2003. As long as you apply before October 2004, your money will be backdated.

The Help the Aged Senior line is: 0808 800 6565.
