Police investigate spate of thefts
Police in Jersey are advising businesses to increase their security to stop opportunist thieves.

The warning comes following 12 walk-in thefts in St Helier in the past fortnight from town shops and offices.

Detective Constable Lee Vallois from the force's Crime Reduction Unit says firms and staff should review their security measures.

In the run of thefts, cash from tills, handbags, purses and valuables in staff locker rooms have all been targeted.

Detective Constable Vallois said bosses and managers should check their CCTV systems to make sure areas are covered, and that access to vulnerable areas such as staff rooms should be strictly controlled.
