A threatened walk-out by security guards in Sheffield has been averted.
Six guards were threatening action after being told they would have to transfer from the Department of Work and Pensions to a private security firm.
But it has now been agreed that the guards, who are members of the Public and Commercial Services Union, will remain in the Civil Service.
In future they will be working for the Home Office.
The guards feared a move out of the Civil Service would affect their pay and pensions.
They held a ballot for strike action, but the result was not announced.
