Asbestos scare workers agree deal
Omni-Pac meeting
Omni-Pac workers have agreed a deal with management
Workers at a factory which was closed down when asbestos was discovered have accepted a management offer of full pay until it reopens.

The factory in South Denes, Great Yarmouth, was closed on 27 October when the Health and Safety Executive was alerted to a possible problem with asbestos.

Inspectors found blue asbestos in lagging materials at the factory had been disturbed, making it more of a risk to health.

On Friday morning a pay deal was agreed.

The clear-up operation at the factory is likely to last until February, and the factory will only open if approved by an independent asbestos analyst.
